Man Brutally Attacked and Robbed at Bally’s Casino in Chicago’s River North Ahead of New Year’s Bash

A 25-year-old man was subjected to a brutal beating and robbery at Bally’s casino in Chicago’s prominent River North neighborhood, an occurrence that rattled the community just days before the establishment’s scheduled New Year’s Eve circus-themed bash. According to NBC Chicago, in the early hours of Monday, around 2 a.m., two men accosted the young man on the 600 block of North Wabash Avenue with violence and theft.

The assailants, whose identities remain a mystery, took flight, leaving the man to fend for his injuries, which he did, opting for self-care rather than medical intervention. The Chicago police relayed no arrests by Tuesday evening, thus leaving the neighborhood wrought with a perturbing sense of insecurity, especially with a major event on the horizon. In response to the incident, Bally’s Chicago expressed their commitment to safety, stating, “The safety and well-being of our guests, team members, and community remain our top priority,” and confirmed its cooperation with law enforcement to address the security-related incident.

Curiously, in a separate account by ABC7 Chicago, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) held back from specifying that the beating and robbery transpired within Bally’s, although it was stated that the event occurred in a business situated on the block where the casino is located.
