Chicago, IL – A 33-year-old man has been charged with felony retail theft after allegedly attempting to leave a downtown Macy’s store with more than $1,200 in merchandise, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said officers with the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Community Safety Team responded around 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, to the Macy’s on State Street for a report of retail theft.
