Elmhurst Police search for suspects in vehicle thefts

ELMHURST, Ill. (WGN) – The Elmhurst Police Department is searching for multiple suspects who stole belongings from unlocked vehicles early Tuesday morning.

Police said at around 4 a.m. Tuesday, a patrol officer saw a white Kia Stinger four-door sedan in the neighborhood that quickly drove off onto I-290 East. After the car drove away, officers checked the area and found approximately four unlocked vehicles parked outside that the suspects had gotten into.

Pedestrian struck, killed by tow truck in Lincolnwood

A resident with a locked vehicle in their driveway gave police surveillance video showing four suspects running through the neighborhood and checking for unlocked cars, while another suspect drove the Kia Stinger that appeared to be used as the getaway car.

Police believe the Kia Stinger had no license plates and said it matches the description of a vehicle that was recently stolen in Chicago…
