BERWYN, Ill. — A suburban police officer was cited for driving under the influence following a crash last month in North Riverside. The officer’s police dog was also in the car at the time.
Now there are questions about why his department only notified residents after a community activist and WGN Investigates got involved.
Police were called to the crash at 2 a.m. on December 29. They found a Berwyn police car off the road where it nearly took down a light pole.
