GRAND BOULEVARD — A crowdfunding campaign has been launched in support of the family of Linda Brown, the Bronzeville special education teacher who died earlier this month, as loved ones prepare for her funeral service.
Family friend Aubrey Perlee said the GoFundMe page was created by others close to Brown to help with burial expenses for the 53-year-old Healy Elementary teacher, whose body was recovered from Lake Michigan Monday after she went missing on Jan. 3. The Cook County Medical Examiner listed her manner of death as a suicide.
The funds raised by the campaign will also help the family cover basic living expenses, according to organizer Jen Rivera. The campaign has raised $2,050 of its $5,500 goal…
