The Joliet Fire Department responded to a report of a possible structure fire with smoke in a residence and flames showing just before 12:30 Tuesday afternoon. The first units arrived within six minutes of the call. Upon investigation, the crew(s) found smoke and fire on coming from a detached garage that was spreading to the roof and 1st floor of a single-family residence. Residents were out of the structure. Responding crews were able to stop the fire at the residence with fire damage limited to back porch and attic with water damage to interior.
