Roads closed in south suburbs after ‘major’ crash, with sheriff warning of slick conditions

Roads in suburban Will County Tuesday morning were closed after a “major motor vehicle crash,” the Manhattan Fire Protection District said, with officials asking drivers to look for alternate routes as an investigation continues.

The Manhattan Fire Protection District posted about the crash, at the intersection of West Wilmington-Peotone Road and South 104th Avenue at about 6:37 a.m. Tuesday.

“Current road conditions are slick, and drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra stopping distance, and drive with extreme caution if traveling nearby,” the post said…
