A civilian review board is recommending the firing of a police officer who appeared to share locations where illegal immigrants may be located, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The Elgin Civilian Review Board in Illinois recommended on Tuesday that the city’s police department fire Officer Jason Lentz, the outlet reported. Elgin Police Chief Ana Lalley announced in October of last year that Lentz had been placed on administrative leave after she was made aware of “a social media post regarding immigration matters attributed to the personal account of Officer Jason Lentz.”
Elgin Civilian Review Board member Jose Bosque said in an email obtained by the Chicago Tribune that Lentz’s post was a “violation of standard operation procedures governing professional conduct, social media use and bias-free policing.”…
