Court documents allege GPS tracking in Oswego murder case

OSWEGO – Court documents requesting detention for the Aurora man accused of murdering his ex-wife allege that he planted a GPS tracking device on her vehicle and planned the attack.

44-year-old Ryan Dodd had an initial court appearance Friday in Kendall County, where a judge ordered him detained ahead of trial. Dodd was arrested Tuesday, January 27, shortly after police found the body of 41-year-old Ashley Stewart in the garage of a home in the 400 block of Valentine Way in the afternoon. She had been stabbed to death.

Court records show an Oswego police officer spoke with Dodd earlier that day after police were called to a report of someone urinating behind garages at about 9:43 a.m. Dodd was found in his vehicle wearing clothing later used to identify him…
