Pedestrian in fatal NW suburban crash that closed road for hours ID’d

A 70-year-old man from Rolling Meadows was identified as the pedestrian killed in a crash that shut down a suburban road for hours as police worked to investigate.

William Capozzielli, 70, of Rolling Meadows, was struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in the 2700 block of Algonquin Road. When police arrived, they found a man, later identified as Capozzoli, down in the roadway.

Capozzoli was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries, police said…
