Five arrested after Aurora armed robbery leads to crash

AURORA — Five people were arrested Thursday after an armed robbery involving a juvenile victim led police on a vehicle pursuit that ended in a crash, according to the Aurora Police Department.

The incident began around 3:25 p.m. near Howell Place and Fourth Avenue, when officers responded to a report that two masked suspects had approached a juvenile on the sidewalk, displayed a firearm, and forcibly took the victim’s property.

Police said the suspects fled in an SUV, but officers quickly located the vehicle using license plate reader technology through the department’s Critical Incident Intelligence Center (CIIC).
