A tragic farmhouse fire in rural Minooka left a 75-year-old woman dead Monday morning after flames tore through a home on the 15000 block of Hanson Road. Fire crews arrived just before 10 a.m. to find the house fully engulfed, with conditions so intense that firefighters could not initially get inside. Once the blaze was brought under control and crews were able to enter, they found the woman inside the residence.

According to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called at 9:46 a.m. to assist the Lisbon Seward Fire Protection District after a report of a structure fire in unincorporated Seward Township.
