The City of Darien has been awarded a $53,000 Illinois Community Canopy Tree Inventory & Management Plan Grant awarded through Trees Forever with funding through Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). This grant will support a comprehensive tree inventory and long-term management strategy to ensure Darien’s public trees remain safe, healthy, and sustainable for years to come.
Starting March 9th 2026, and lasting approximately 9 weeks, Davey Resource Group will be out surveying all public trees in Darien, located within street right-of-ways.
