In the early afternoon hours of Thursday, March 4, 2026, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call in the 200 block of S. Ravinia Dr in regards to a Domestic Battery in progress.
Officers arrived in less than two minutes and witnessed a man, later identified as Ryan DUBE, 19 of Shorewood, striking and pushing a female (Dube’s mother) to the ground, then advancing towards her. With no time to de-escalate, the first officer tackled DUBE before he could continue his attack on the female. Once on the ground, Dube raised a knife and swung it towards the officer attempting to stab him. The second officer that arrived was able to intervene and stop the knife attack. Officers were able to gain control of Dube and place him into custody. The officer and female victim were both evaluated by paramedics on the scene for injuries.
Further investigation revealed that the attack began in the home, where Dube, according to a witness, slapped and punched his mother in the face and neck while verbally assaulting her. The female victim attempted to escape by running out of the front door, but Dube chased her while holding a knife in his right hand. When he caught up to her, Dube kicked the female in her back, grabbed her and threw her to the ground…
