MOM’s Organic Market plans expansion to Chicago suburbs

MOM’s Organic Market plans to open its first two stores in the Chicago market later this year, marking the 27-unit chain’s expansion into the Midwest.

The vast suburban sprawl of the Chicago area represents a prime opportunity for the retailer, says Scott Nash, founder and CEO of MOM’s, which is based in Rockville, Maryland.

“Our targeted customers are families who cook their meals at home in their kitchen, and Chicago has a lot of that going on,” he says. The retailer has signed two leases for locations in the suburban towns of Mount Prospect and Naperville, Illinois, scheduled to open late this summer and in the fall, respectively…
