There was major progress made during the overnight hours on the new southbound I-55 to eastbound I-80 flyover bridge. Work crews safely set the new bridge beams into place, while northbound I-55 was closed.
Next up: Crews will finish setting beams during a scheduled closure of southbound I-55 on Wednesday night (March 11, 2026), from midnight to 5:00 a.m. Thursday (March 12, 2026).
