PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Two Illinois State Police troopers were hospitalized with serious injuries after four wrecks involving ISP occurred within 12 hours of each other on Tuesday.
At 4:45 p.m. on March 17, a trooper with ISP Troop 5‘s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau had their emergency lights on, helping a vehicle, when a semi hit the back of the squad car, pushing it into the trooper and the vehicle they were helping, a release from ISP said.
The trooper was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and three people inside the car were also taken to a hospital, but the release did not give an update on their condition…
