Based on the results of a 2025 community satisfaction survey of 600 randomly selected residents, the City of Wheaton was recently recognized by ETC Institute for being among its top 10% of local governments assessed nationwide.
The City enlisted ETC Institute to conduct a statistically valid anonymous survey in the summer of 2025 to gauge how well we are serving our community’s needs and where we should focus future efforts. Wheaton’s results were also compared against other communities nationwide surveyed by ETC, and the City’s results rated significantly higher (more than 20 percentage points) above the national average in 39 different areas, including residents’ satisfaction with Wheaton as a place to live and the quality of services provided by the City.
Among the most valuable insights for the City come from comparing our most recent survey to a previous survey conducted in 2014. Of note, the City experienced gains in multiple areas where it dedicated significant resources, such as improved satisfaction with stormwater runoff/management (increase of 27.3%); maintenance of City streets and sidewalks (+ 27%); police community engagement and safety programs (+21.2%); and using social media/technology to inform (+34.4%)…
