The Village encourages residents to participate in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Fix a Leak Week, taking place March 16 through 22, 2026. This annual initiative highlights the importance of finding and fixing household leaks to conserve water and reduce utility costs.
Household leaks can waste nearly 1 trillion gallons of water nationwide each year. Common sources include dripping faucets, running toilets and outdoor irrigation systems. Taking a few minutes to check for leaks can make a meaningful difference for your home and the community.
Residents are encouraged to:
- Check faucets, toilets and showerheads for leaks
- Inspect outdoor spigots and irrigation systems
- Replace worn fixtures with WaterSense-labeled products
- Sign up for the Village’s WaterSmart Portal to monitor water usage and set up leak alerts
Fixing leaks is simple and can help save water and money year-round. By taking action, residents can support Lombard’s ongoing efforts to promote water conservation and sustainability…
