Station 13 marks Aurora’s first-ever fire station north of Interstate 88 and is expected to cut response time to the City’s Northeast Side in half. The Station features new, cutting-edge technology and an updated layout set to make operations safer and more efficient. The building has specialized ventilation systems for both firefighters’ gear and vehicle exhaust, plus gear washers and dryers to minimize carcinogens that may attach to gear during a fire.
The new Station 9, which moved from 2339 Diehl Road to 500 N. Eola Road, features more storage for front-line units and improved access to key areas within the building.
