🚧 New Sustainable Transportation Facility Coming to Naperville 203

Naperville Community Unit School District 203 is building a new 12,400-square-foot transportation facility on Fifth Avenue to replace its outdated operations center. The project, funded through the District’s Capital Projects Fund (Fund 60) with no new taxes, will provide modern, code-compliant workspaces for drivers, mechanics, and office staff.

The design includes geothermal-powered systems and a full rooftop solar array, cutting grid energy use to about 30% and projecting $4.3 million in energy savings through 2050. Construction is expected to start in spring 2026, with substantial completion by December 2026. The total project cost, including soft costs, is estimated at $18.5 million
