The Village of Romeoville has passed a balanced budget for the 2026/27 fiscal year that reflects their commitment to keeping the community safe, prosperous, and fun. The Village will again offer an increased property tax rebate to homeowners and, for the 11th year in a row, the Village will lower its property tax rate.
This new budget addresses several priorities including public safety and the resurfacing of roads, while also containing several park projects and other areas of focus. Overall, the budget includes 142 capital projects, 36% of which are water and sewer related. Work continues to upgrade the system in advance of Lake Michigan water coming to Romeoville by 2030. This includes replacing aging pipes with larger and more durable alternatives as well as sealing leaks and building new or rehabilitating existing storage tanks and pump stations.
Of special note in this budget are the upgrades coming to the police department, which will see Romeoville PD become one of the most technologically advanced departments in the area.
