JJC Seeks Volunteer “Fixers” for Romeoville Repair Café

Have a Knack for Fixing Things?

Joliet Junior College is looking for volunteer “fixers” to lend their skills at an upcoming Repair Café on Friday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Romeoville Campus, 1125 W. 135th St., Romeoville. The free community event brings people together to repair everyday items and keep them out of landfills.

Volunteers are needed to staff repair stations for electrical appliances, clothing and textiles, furniture and toys, bicycles and carts, jewelry, and simple fixes using glue, string, or tape. Fixers should be experienced in the area they choose and enjoy helping others learn hands‑on repair skills. Volunteers don’t need to be professionals—hobbyists and handy problem‑solvers are welcome…
