Cleanup underway after roughly 30 gallons of bleach leaked near popular suburban mall

Roughly 30 gallons of concentrated bleach leaked from a semi-trailer near a popular mall in a western suburb on Tuesday morning, prompting a cleanup process that was expected to take around 5 hours, authorities said.

Around 10:25 a.m., authorities responded to a call for a hazardous materials incident on the 2700 block of Beverly Drive in Aurora and found a semi-trailer containing a punctured and leaking container of concentrated bleach.

Approximately 30 gallons of the bleach leaked from the container, according to the Aurora Fire Department, and some of it spilled into nearby storm drains…
