The DeKalb County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was shot and killed by police during an exchange of gunfire on I-88 near Keslinger Road in DeKalb County Monday as 36-year-old Joseph Moreno of Warrenville.
The coroner’s office says the case remains under investigation by local and state authorities.
Police had been pursuing a vehicle, believed to be driven by Moreno, from Naperville until it was stopped using spike strips. The pursuit began after Moreno allegedly brandished a gun.
