Florida data challenges insurance claim
Florida homeowners insurance data has raised questions about a reported 25.3% premium increase in Collier County during the first half of 2026. The figure came from an analysis published by insurance comparison company Insurify.
The Insurance Information Institute challenged that estimate using figures from the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. State data indicated a much smaller annual increase, highlighting important differences in how insurance prices are calculated and reported.
