San Carlos Island attorney Monica Schmucker has ascended to the pivotal role of Special Magistrate for the Town of Fort Myers Beach. In a unanimous decision, the town council endorsed her appointment this Monday.
Stepping into the shoes of her predecessor Myrnabelle Roche, who stepped down last year, Schmucker brings a wealth of experience and community involvement. A partner at Schmucker & Lavy, her legal expertise spans mediations, arbitrations, and real estate transactions. Notably, Schmucker has been a vocal advocate assisting clients with Hurricane Ian claims, although she’s transitioning from litigation.
More than just a legal mind, Schmucker is deeply woven into the fabric of Fort Myers Beach. She’s a past president of the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club, a dedicated member of the Fort Myers Beach Elementary School Parent Teacher’s Organization, and an aspirant for a Lee County Schools Board seat. Her drive to reopen Fort Myers Beach Elementary School, where her two children are enrolled, underscores her commitment to education and community.
