Historical Society presents lecture on Marco’s Water Quality. The Marco Island Historical Society (MIHS) continues their programs on the history and people of Marco Island and surrounding areas. At 2 p.m., Jan. 31 – Lecture on Marco Island’s Water Quality & Environmental Advocacy: Nanette Rivera from the Conservancy of Southwest Florida presents this lecture on Marco Island’s precious water resource and how the public can advocate for its protection. The program is free to members of the Marco Island Historical Society and $10 for non-members, payable at the door. Reservations can be made at themihs.org. The Marco Island Historical Museum is located at 180 S. Heathwood Drive. The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, and the site is handicapped accessible.
