Troopers search for black pickup with orange, red racing stripes that hit pedestrian

Authorities are searching for a pickup, involved in a Saturday night hit-and-run, after a 45-year-old Naples man was left on scene with critical injuries.

The hit-and-run happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday along Shadowlawn Drive, near Catherine Avenue, in East Naples, according to a Florida Highway Patrol incident report.

Troopers said the truck was traveling south on Shadowlawn Drive, approaching the intersection of Catherine Avenue, while the pedestrian stood on Shadowlawn Drive, north of Catherine Avenue.

The struck struck the pedestrian, who suffered critical injuries and was taken to a hospital, authorities said.

Troopers said the pickup fled the scene after the collision.

Witnesses told authorities said saw a black, four-door pickup with a triangular racing stripe on the side — orange and red — and chrome wheels.
