When a plane crashed on Interstate 75 last week, this team jumped into action to bring you everything that was happening in real time. And they haven’t stopped since.

That’s included breaking news, eyewitness accounts, aggregated social media posts, answering reader questions and powerful videos and photo galleries.

One of the most jarring videos came from a truck driver who was driving along as the charter jet crashed. It looks like a scene from a movie.

This same team jumped on the news when a Collier County commissioner was arrested. They followed it when the warrant was issued for Rick LoCastro’s arrest, when he was hospitalized and when he returned to work after he posted bail. And they’ll continue to report on it as more details unfold.

And when a Southwest Florida high school teacher resigned after school officials removed his in-class library, they tackled that too. Mike Andoscia told reporter Dan Glaun that he resigned after the school boxed up his books and laced them in “administrative lockup.”
