- I took a FlixBus from Miami to Naples and back for $50. The ride was under two hours each way.
- The price of the ticket seemed fair and the ride took about as long as driving would’ve.
- My seat was comfy and I had a great experience taking the bus — I’d do it again for a day trip.
Florida’s public-transit situation isn’t great, even though it’s home to tourist hotspots like Orlando and congested cities like Miami.
Some say Tampa Bay has some of the worst public-transit systems in the US, and rail systems with limited runs and delayed buses have failed many in Orlando .
Attempts to improve these problems have also been derailed— in December, Florida’s Department of Transportation declined $320 million of dollars in federal funding for transportation projects because it was tied to climate-change initiatives that state officials deemed too political.
