The “Cape Florida Light” lantern room is currently equipped with 96 plexiglass windows that were installed during the 1996 restoration of the lighthouse. Since then, the panels have aged and suffered ultraviolet light damage, making them cloudy and preventing visitors from enjoying the vistas of the surrounding park scenery, the Stiltsville houses or the Miami skyline.
