Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations

Through Nov. 17, Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar on Third Street South is running “La Comida & Tequila,” with food and drink specials inspired by various Latin cuisines. The dedicated menu includes Aguachile($20), comprising Peruvian bay scallops, Argentinian red shrimp, halibut or snapper, and “Spa Day” margaritas, which have me dreaming of a getaway to booze-free Rancho La Puerta.

Through Oct. 15, upscale Latin fusion spot Unidos offers a $56 three-course prix-fixe that includes a glass of Malbec. The menu runs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Highlights include rompe colchon (a Venezuelan seafood cocktail), portobello risotto, and oblea, a decadent Colombian dessert.
