Hurricane Milton has strengthened into a Category 3 major hurricane this morning (Oct. 7, 2024). The exact forecast for exactly when and where Milton will hit remains fluid. On Sunday, officials on Fort Myers Beach ordered a mandatory evacuation for residents by 3 p.m. today. Marco Island currently has voluntary evacuations underway.
