Local couple pivots after Milton tanks wedding plans

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Despite months of planning, the destination wedding of Gabrielle Lavorata and Kyle Bialosky this weekend in Naples, Florida was in jeopardy because of the impending arrival of Hurricane Milton.

“Naples City canceled our beach permit, and we talked to the wedding planner and we were like we’re not coming,” Lavorata said.

But Lavorato, who is from Mineral Ridge, wasn’t about to let Milton crash her big day.

“I came across Boardman Park being open for the gazebo, so I booked that as soon as I saw it was available,” Lavorata said.

However, it was a conversation her mother had at the hairdresser that led the couple to Firefly Farm in Canfield.

“The lady sitting next to her is friends with the caterer here at Firefly Farms and she’s like call him and see if they can help you,” Lavorata said.

Firefly Farm Event Manager Janelle Nagy said they had a Saturday open.

“My caterer called and said, ‘How do you feel about a wedding on a Saturday?’ I was like let’s go,” Nagy said.
