The American Legion Riders of District 13 have been serving Veterans in need for many years. They have just begun their 2nd Annual District 13 Winter Stamping Tour with 78 locations in SWFL. The first Tour last year raised almost $20,000 and provided aid to American Legions that were destroyed by Hurricane Ian. This year, the funds raised will be going to Project Vet Relief/Suicide Prevention Initiative so they may better serve our Veteran community and to help end Veteran suicides. The Tour started on November 1st and will go until February 28th, with the final prize party to be held on March 9th at the Punta Gorda American Legion Post 103.
You don’t have to ride a motorcycle for this event. You can go by car, bike, or even a party bus that some locations rented last year. The Tour is a wonderful way to sample a taste of SWFL. The stops are as far as Marco Island, Moorehaven and even Sarasota, with all of the towns and cities in between. To find stops near your area or to purchase a booklet, you can check out the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/District13StampingTour or call Laurene Allen-Flower at 845-238-4723.
