A 28-year-old Naples man died Sunday night as he walked along the outside lane of Collier Boulevard, authorities say.
The wreck happened shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday along Collier Boulevard, near Naples Lake Boulevard, in Naples, according to a Florida Highway Patrol incident report.
Troopers said the car, driven by a 42-year-old Naples man, was traveling north on Collier Boulevard, south of Naples Lake Boulevard, while the pedestrian walked south of Naples Lake Boulevard.
The car struck the pedestrian, who died on scene, making him one of at least 58 deaths stemming from Collier County crashes this year.
This year is the deadliest in Collier County since at least 2018.
