Divisiveness rules at Marco Island City Council with failed attempt to appoint member

Division won the day Monday on Marco Island as its city council failed to appoint a seventh member. The six council members spent hours at their regular meeting trying to select someone to fill the seat vacated by Greg Folley in November. The problem: no one would bend. Voting ended in multiple 3-3 ties before acting Chairman Erik Brechnitz decided to move on with the agenda two hours into the meeting.
