Under Florida State Statute 413.08(3) service dogs are allowed at all outdoor public activities including trails. Some current Village signage shows “ALL” dogs not allowed which if not fixed could amount to a misdemeanor and it is against the motto of The Villages being the friendliest community in America. I raised this at a recent supervisor meeting but it seemed to me they were not interested in such a correction. How hard is it to accept that residents are capable of controlling a leashed pet but it seems outrageous that this type of view could extend to service dogs?
