Gary Danielson announces his retirement after a 36-year television career

A legendary college football analyst is calling it a career. Gary Danielson will retire after the 2025 college football season after working 36 years in television. Danielson will complete his 20th season with CBS as the longest-tenured broadcaster.

Danielson began his career with CBS in 2006 as the primary college football analyst on the “SEC on CBS” broadcast with Verne Lundquist. In 2025, the SEC ended their agreement with CBS, and the BIG Ten will take over their signature slot at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
