A new effort by the Naples Daily News and Collier Community Foundation hopes to provide 3,300 students with school uniforms. The campaign, running until the end of April, wants to raise $250,000 for kids who need help.
“We are thrilled to be part of this effort,” said Wendy Fullerton Powell, executive editor of the Naples Daily News and vice president and Florida Region Editor for the USA Today Network-Florida. “I know the Naples community will show up and help make sure all of our students are properly dressed for school.”
Local community partners have already pitched in $125,000 in matching funds. With $50 needed per student, getting uniforms for one classroom costs $600. Twenty-three elementary schools, where kids must wear uniforms, will get help from this campaign…
