Kristen Coury, founder, CEO & production artistic director of Gulfshore Playhouse, announces the cast and creative team for its upcoming Summer Conservatory production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical Jr. Featuring a cast of more than 50 student performers between the ages of 5 and 15, this action-packed musical adventure will be performed July 25 – 27 on the Moran Mainstage at the Baker Theatre and Education Center.
More than just a student production, Matilda The Musical Jr. is a fully produced theatrical event. With guidance from seasoned theatre professionals and teaching artists, the cast is learning what it means to bring a story to life at the highest level.
At the helm of this summer’s student Conservatory production is director Janine Merolla (associate artistic director, WolfPAC, Philadelphia), music director Jack Denman (teaching artist, WolfPAC), Gulfshore Playhouse associate artistic director Dann Dunn as choreographer, costume designer Helen Dominguez (Seussical Jr.), and scenic designer Kristen Martino (Sweet Charity). These industry professionals have traveled from around the country to lead rehearsals and nurture each student’s growth—and we can’t wait to see each young actor shine in the spotlight…
