Betsy Perdichizzi is well known as Marco Island’s “Historian” for her research into the key figures and events that fueled and formed this island community. She also is a longtime and very active member of the local Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
DAR members hosted what surely will be the first of many goodbye fetes for Perdichizzi, a luncheon July 17 at the Island Country Club.
Perdichizzi is a past president of the Marco Island Historical Society. She is the author of five historical books about Marco Island and its pioneers. She brings the stories to life through her entertaining and lively reenactments of key historical figures. Her husband, Bill, also has been active in the Historical Society. They will leave Marco in the fall for a new home and a new life in New Mexico…
