Town, Seagate Ask For More Time

The request has to do with the Writ of Certiorari case a group of Fort Myers Beach residents (Protect FMB) have filed against the town to have the Town Council take another look at the approval of the Seagate/Red Coconut property redevelopment project.

As we reported back on June 27th, Circuit Court Judge Michael McHugh gave the town 30 days “to file a response showing cause as to why the requested relief should not be granted.” That deadline is Thursday.

In a court filing Wednesday, attorneys for the Town of Fort Myers Beach and Seagate have asked McHugh for a one week extension. They say it’s not a delaying tactic and have gotten the OK from Protect FMB for extra week…
