Bonita Springs charity Cafe of Life recently held its annual backpack event at Leitner Park. Just over 300 backpacks containing school supplies and uniforms were distributed; along with 17 bikes for children and adults, according to Theresa Moore.
The Lions Club provided eye screenings; Premier Mobile Health Services provided free school physicals and the Lee County Sheriff’s Department served ice cream to over 300 participants.
Safe boating class
Fort Myers Beach U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 91, will offer “Boat America,” a safe boating class, on Aug. 16.
