Naples restaurant news: Openings, closures, menu refreshes, and a local food drive

It’s been a busy few weeks for the Naples restaurant scene with openings, closings, menu refreshes, and more.

Two well-known restaurants have shuttered, making way for new concepts to take their places. Spoiler: There’s going to be a new Tulia in town.

Menu refresh: The Village Pub

The Village Pub in Naples introduced a menu refresh on Sept. 3, bringing back beloved items that locals have been asking for and adding dishes and drinks inspired by popular specials. Here’s some highlights from the new menu:

  • Gator Bites: Lightly breaded and deep-fried native alligator served with “gator sauce”
  • Tuna Poke Nachos: Crispy wontons, ahi tuna, avocado, red onion, jalapenos, tomato, cilantro, sesame seeds, sesame ginger glaze, wasabi cream
  • Mushroom, Bacon, Swiss Burger: Sautéed mushrooms, hardwood-smoked bacon, Swiss cheese
  • Turkey Press: Oven-roasted turkey, avocado, hardwood-smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, roasted garlic aioli on white bread
  • Baja Fish Tacos: Lightly battered mild white fish filet, cheddar-jack cheese, coleslaw, remoulade, cilantro, lime
