Everywhere you look in Southwest Florida right now, there’s some kind of road improvement project underway.
One significant project making noticeable strides is the Florida Department of Transportation’s I-75 at SR 951 (Exit 101) Interchange Improvements in Collier County, which includes a elevated flyover ramp that will carry traffic over Beck Boulevard and Davis Boulevard.
FDOT recently posted an update on its Facebook page, saying:
- Crews have begun widening southbound I-75 to allow the new ramp to merge in.
- Work also continues on the overhead (flyover) bridge spans.
- Intermittent nighttime lane closures are in effect on CR 951/Collier Boulevard to allow crews to move equipment, deliver materials and construct the overhead bridge work.
- Travel lanes on SR 951 are shifting to create safe work zones for elevated roadway construction.
The $97 million project, which started in early 2023, is expected to be completed next summer…
