1. Sizzle Dining raised over $87,000 for Collier and Lee elementary students

Southwest Florida’s tastiest fundraiser wrapped up Sept. 30, as Sizzle Dining served up three weeks of delicious deals for a good cause. This year’s event was the biggest to date, with a record-breaking 127 restaurants on board.

Participating restaurants in Collier and Lee counties created prix-fixe menus for diners to create their own meal. For every Sizzle meal sold, restaurants donated a dollar to the Blessings in a Backpack program, which provides backpacks stocked with food for local students to enjoy over weekends.

How much dough did Sizzle dish out for the kids? This year Sizzle Dining sold over 87,000 meals and over 8,000 cocktails, breaking last year’s record of 62,529 meals sold. But how does that translate to money?…
