Small Plane from Fort Lauderdale Makes Rough Landing at Naples Airport, Pilot Cooperates with FAA Investigation

Early Tuesday morning, a small plane originating from South Florida experienced a rough landing at Naples Airport. According to WSVN, the 1972 Cessna, which departed from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, veered off the runway during its descent and came to rest in the surrounding grass. Witnesses observed two individuals exiting the aircraft and leaving the scene, only to return later to coordinate with aviation authorities. Despite what could have been a perilous incident, no injuries were reported.

The events disrupted operations at the airport for some time. Gulf Coast News Now indicated that the incident occurred around 3 a.m., and it took several hours until the plane was eventually extricated from the grassy expanse by the Naples Airport operations team. By approximately 6:30 a.m., the aircraft was secured inside an hangar and normal airport activity resumed.

Naples Airport officials acknowledged the pilot, Brianna Brown’s cooperation with the ongoing investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Brown made her return to the airport around midday to partake in the inquiry, as per an account by Gulf Coast News.
