Turning a New Page: Books on Third Opens in Naples

Two local ladies are opening a new chapter for booklovers in Naples. In an era when bookstores around the nation are closing, the Naples women just opened a 3,000 square foot shop and stocked it with more than 16,000 new books.

“I have always wanted to do a bookstore. It was a pipe dream,” said Lindsay Smith, co-owner of the new Books on Third. “People seem to be really hungry for community.”

“It is the only independent bookstore in Naples. We are so excited that we could fill this space with something that Naples has been looking for,” added co-owner Shan O’Fee-Byrom. “Bookstores are coming back in a digital world. People are looking for analog activities to give us all a break from the screen and all the technology. This will give you that break. We are really proud of what we have accomplished.”
